Did You Know?
Electric Boat partners with the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut to help those in need of food, home heating assistance, small personal loans or essential furniture, to name a few.
Employees Community Services Association
The Electric Boat Employees' Community Services Association is made up of everyone at EB that chooses to contribute to local non-profit organizations, through both monetary contributions, and volunteering their time and talent.

All monetary contributions are collected and allocated to a variety of local programs by a team of employees that works together to assess the local needs, and ensure that funding goes where it can make the biggest impact.
United Way Day of Caring is an event open to all employees and their families and friends to volunteer as a group to work on one-time volunteer projects at local nonprofit organizations. This program is a valuable service for our local non-profits which allow them to focus their funding on the services they provide. These events have included painting railings and walls at homeless shelters and daycare facilities, laying out mulch and reviving gardens for handicap students, as well as reading at local schools.
Additionally, our employees volunteer to collect food and products for use by the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center. Since 1988, the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center has played a key role in providing one of the building blocks to a good quality of life by feeding food insecure individuals and families all across our community. Every year, the Food Center distributes the equivalent of 2.4 million meals to more 80 food pantries, shelters, child care centers, community meal sites, and programs for the elderly.
Year round we have collections held right at the plant including everything from food, to winter coats, to school supplies. All of these collections help to fill the gaps for local families trying to get back on their feet.
