General Dynamics American Overseas Marine & Braintree Companies
AMSEA is the ship operating segment of General Dynamics Marine Systems, operated by a team of highly experienced and professional ship operators and managers. It was founded in 1984 in Quincy, Massachusetts to operate five new-construction ships built by the former General Dynamics Quincy Shipbuilding Division.
Since its founding, AMSEA has managed Ready Reserve Force vessels for the U.S. Maritime Administration and Sealift Ships for the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command.
Currently the company operates and manages five Maritime Prepositioning Ships (MPS) and seven Large Medium Speed Roll-on/Roll-off (LMSR) Vessels for the U. S. Navy, employing more than 450 people.
AMSEA also has three 125,000-cubic-meter Moss ships with current SIRE surveys available for short- or long-term charter.Directions to Quincy
